A patient with bilateral congenital ankylosis of the stapes caused by a bony bridge extending from the pyramidal eminence to the neck of the stapes is reported. She was 6-year-old and had a moderate degree of conductive hearing loss. After excision of the bridge, her hearing was almost normal.
