Abstract
An amphipathic antigen was extracted with aqueous phenol from whole cells of Eubacterium nodatum and purified by gel chromatography on Sepharose 6B. From the results of chemical analyses, passive haemagglutination test and haemagglutination inhibition assay, the amphipathic antigen of E. nodatum was shown to be a glycerol lipoteichoic acid.
