N2 - The behavior of H atoms in very short hydrogen bonds formed between O5 and O3i was studied. The low temperature structure determination of ammonium hydrogen hydroxypropanedioate revealed that the H atom involved in a very short asymmetric hydrogen bonds was disordered. This indicates that the potential function is of an asymmetric double-minimum type for this short hydrogen bond.
