Abstract

Annealing effect of Pb doped 2223 type superconductor Pb0.35Bi1.73Sr1.89Ca1.86Cu3.0Oy under high oxygen pressure at 200 - 600 C are reported. Annealing under 100 atm of oxygen increased oxygen content and shortened the c-axis with a few degree drop in Tc. On the other hand, lead-free 2223 phase showed no change in cell parameters and Tc, but an increase in the oxygen content. It is possible that oxygen atoms enter in Bi2O2 layers and bismuth and lead are partially oxidized.
