Abstract

A study was performed on a tunable narrow-band picosecond dye laser. The dye laser emitting in the ultraviolet region was amplified using a Ce:LiCaAlF6 crystal pumped by the forth-harmonic emission of a Nd:Y3Al5O12 laser. It was found that the single pass gain obtained exceeded 2 in the spectral range of 288 to 297 nm.
