Abstract

Primary retroperitoneal mucinous cystic tumors are rare and its histogenesis is uncertain. Here We report a case of retroperitoneal mucinous cystadenoma with borderline malignancy.CT and MRI examinations demonstrated a large cystic mass with a mural nodule in left retroperitoneal space and it was successfully resected. The resected tumor was 10*9cm in size with a mural nodule. The histpathological diagnosis was mucinous cystadenoma with borderline malignancy which originated from the retroperitoneum, similar to ovarian mucinous cystic tumors. The patient recoverd rapidly and there was no evidence of recurrence after 2years.
